Medical Assistant students complete training with SSM Health and St. Louis Community College

On September 15, 2017, nine students successfully completed the Medical Assistant training program and graduated with their Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification. This accelerated program, which combined 12 weeks of intensive classroom training with 10 weeks of blended classroom and clinical instruction, was offered through a collaborative arrangement between the SSM Health Medical Group and St. Louis Community College. The Medical Group provided students with the opportunity to complete clinical rotations in departments such as Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Pediatrics and Specialty Care. All nine graduates recently participated in the SSM Health Talent Management interview process and several have already received permanent job opportunities.
All students accepted into this program completed the prerequisite MoSTEMWINs Portal pre-employment training program and prepared to land new jobs by taking advantage of the educational services provided through the MoSTEMWINs grant program offered through St. Louis Community College. Classes within the Medical Assistant training program are held Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Medical Assistants are in demand in the St. Louis area and enrollment is open now for individuals that want to get started in the MoSTEMWINs Portal training classes and prepare for Medical Assistant training program classes scheduled to start October 23 and November 6, 2017.
