- 2020 State of the St. Louis Workforce Report
No One Of Us Is As Good As All Of Us

Thank you to all who participated in STLCC’s 2019 State of the St. Louis Workforce event. With attendance in record numbers, our speakers and report findings challenged St. Louisans to rethink the way we approach workforce gaps.
Here is our wish for St. Louis
As a community, let’s heed the call to engage historically overlooked populations – justice-involved candidates, individuals with disabilities, and African American men age 18–24. Let’s consider every applicant as a human with the potential and desire to contribute rather than seeing a statistic or allowing our own fear or uncertainty to hold us back. Let’s connect with the many free community resources available to us and share ideas with one another.
Let’s learn and grow together.
Are you looking for powerful ways to fill your workforce gaps? Consider these facts:
- 94% of Mission: St. Louis Job & Leadership Training (JLT) graduates – all of whom are justice-involved – have no new legal offenses. (1)
- 59% of workplace accommodations for people with disabilities cost absolutely nothing, while the rest of accommodations have a typical cost of only $500. (2)
- 127 Urban League Save Our Sons (SOS) graduates started jobs in 2019. If they all keep those jobs for a year, they’ll pump $3 million into some of the poorest neighborhoods in the city. (3)
