Construction Classes 2019

The number of construction jobs in Missouri has been slowly increasing since the end of the recession. With more than 105,000 jobs statewide, the industry is in demand with no sign of slowing down.

St. Louis Community College Continuing Education offers construction classes to prepare individuals for the construction industry in various sectors, from electrical to drafting. Our courses cover the necessary knowledge over the course of the semester, with other resources available as well. “The students who go through our programs are much more prepared to enter the industry,” Manager of Continuing Education, Marie Peters said.

The median hourly wage for construction workers in Missouri is $23.96, securing a livable wage for those who succeed in the industry. Rotating courses at STLCC cover national electrical code and calculations, construction methods, construction office practices and introduction to AutoCAD.

STLCC also offers classes on a variety of non-traditional construction paths, such as drones, HVAC, NABCEP solar certified courses and OSHA safety and quality training for private and public sector workers.
