Attend the Patient Care Technician (PCT) Career Event April 9, 2018

St. Luke’s Hospital and St. Louis Community College are hosting a Career Fair Event on Monday, April 9, 2018 for individuals interested in Patient Care Technician (PCT) training.
The event is being held from 3 to 7 p.m. on the main level of St. Luke’s Hospital in the 3rd floor conference room. Individuals interested in learning how to work alongside nurses, physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide direct patient care should attend. Those selected for this training will start classes on June 18, 2018.
St. Louis Community College and St. Luke’s Hospital are collaborating on the design of a 9-week accelerated training program that combines classroom and lab instruction with hands-on clinical experience. The training program is the first phase of a one-year competency-based “earn and learn” training and mentorship program. St. Luke’s Hospital is a U.S. Department of Labor registered apprenticeship sponsor and is hosting their first Patient Care Technician Apprenticeship Program.
The classroom instruction will be held on the Forest Park campus from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The clinical instruction takes place three days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at St. Luke’s Hospital.
The cost of instructional materials for this program will be provided through a variety of funding sources. There are no costs to students that qualify to participate in this training.
