Apply Now for Boeing Pre-Employment Assembly Mechanic Training Starting Feb. 6 and Feb. 27
St. Louis Community College, in partnership with Boeing, offers accelerated pre-employment programs to train individuals for potential jobs as assembly mechanics within Boeing. Training is free for those who qualify and is conducted at STLCC’s Center for Workforce Innovation on its Florissant Valley campus. Students who successfully complete the training program will have an opportunity to interview with Boeing.
These daytime classes start February 6 and February 27, 2017 and run 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
All interested applicants must meet the eligibility requirements including the required scores on specific WorkKeys assessment tests. Due to the high demand, individual inquires or calls will not be returned. The first step for any interested applicants is to email or fax a resume to Boeingtraining@stlcc.edu or 314-513-4604. We are looking for mechanically inclined individuals and your resume should reflect that. Please be sure to add all skills, hobbies, tools, and work experience that would reflect your mechanical aptitude on the resume. Updated program information may also be heard on the program’s hotline at 314-539-5921.
This accelerated job training program is an exemplary example of a successful collaboration between business and education. The program consistently maintains the highest job placement rate of all the college’s non-credit accelerated job training programs.
In order to be selected for the program, and possibly hired by Boeing, students must meet stringent program requirements such as scoring at or above the cut-off on the WorkKeys assessments, maintaining a grade of 75% or higher throughout the program, and earning a certificate of completion for assembly mechanics training.
If you are mechanically inclined and are interested in a fulfilling career in the aerospace field, then this program is for you.
The Assembly Mechanic program consists of instruction in drilling, counter-sinking and other assembly techniques.
The participants must complete the entire training program. If at any point they receive a grade below 75% they are removed from the program.
Upon completion of the training, participants receive a completion award for Assembly Mechanics Training. Representatives from Boeing will attend a class session and discuss the application and interviewing process. Students individually must then go online and apply for a job with Boeing.
Applicant Eligibility and Requirements
Individuals with mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply. All applicants must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED. They also must meet the eligibility requirements, including the required scores on specific WorkKeys assessment tests.
