Successful Microsoft Certification Program at the MET Center

The Business Technology Training (BTT) Program at the MET Center has earned the distinguished recognition from Certiport for exemplary pass rates in the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification in Word, Excel, and Access. Although Microsoft does not release specific national pass rate data, BTT Program Manager, Karin Fowler recently learned from Certiport that the MET Center testing site significantly surpasses national pass rates, which are close to 65% – with the MET Center reporting a pass rate of over 80%.
The BTT Program is an aggressive, accelerated, 11-week training program designed to prepare diverse, motivated adult students for the competitive technical and administrative roles needed in an ever-changing global workforce. Not only does the BTT certification process provide advanced performance tools that develop and assess trainees’ individual competencies using Microsoft Office applications, but it also offers opportunities for participants to demonstrate their abilities to integrate and quickly complete complex job tasks across multiple programs.
BTT’s administrative modules are designed around IT Professional Development. Today’s IT professionals face growing challenges in the marketplace as employer and customer demands for exceptional technical skills blended with effective business soft skills increases. The BTT Program responds to these needs by immersing trainees in business developmental courses that help hone, reinforce, and demonstrate essential skills in communication, strategic planning, management, analysis, and leadership that introduce and prepare participants for careers in IT environments.
Those who have an opportunity to see the BTT training and certification process in action attribute much of the trainees’ success to their discipline, focus, and tenacity combined with the guidance of a dedicated and experienced training team available to help individuals navigate the fast paced courses. A representative of Certiport stated, “It is very rare that [we] see a school with such a good pass rate…[Everyone] involved with the program should be commended.” Microsoft makes it tough to pass these exams so that the certification will have significant value for those who are successful. In the end, both employers and graduates alike experience the value that well-prepared, certified administrative IT professionals can offer.
We are enrolling now for the next BTT Class, April 15, 2013. For more information, please contact the MET Center (314) 746-0800.
