Hazelwood School District Leadership Development

To improve communications and services to children and parents, the Hazelwood School District worked with the Corporate Services unit of the Workforce Solutions Group to provide a series of workshops in leadership, teambuilding, and customer service to a group of thirty non-teaching supervisors, managers, and executives.

Beginning with a teambuilding seminar for the Superintendent and all the Assistant Superintendents last fall, the Hazelwood management team participated in and received continuing education credit for a total of ten programs, covering topics such as leadership essentials, coaching, dealing with difficult people, and reaching agreement facilitated by Barry Schapiro, Practice Leader for Leadership and Professional Development (Barry’s “Leadership for Life” Blog) and Renee Huss, Program Associate, Corporate Services. The 30 leaders will be honored at a September 2013 graduation ceremony.
