Gov. Nixon Outlines Missouri Works Strategy During Visit to St. Louis Chemical Manufacturer

Gov. Jay Nixon visited Jost Chemical Co. in St. Louis County on January 13, 2012 and addressed all employees about the continued importance of creating more job opportunities for Missourians.
The Governor outlined a comprehensive strategy to create growth through Missouri Works, and his visit to Jost Chemical Co. underscored the importance of Missouri’s job training initiatives. Since being founded in 1985 as a manufacturer of high-purity, inorganic and organometallic salts for food, pharmaceutical, and nutritional products, Jost Chemical has expanded several times and continues to grow at an average annual rate of about 20 percent.
Over the last few years, Jost Chemical has applied for and received training grant assistance through the State Division of Workforce Development’s Missouri Customized Training Program to enhance the skills of its workforce. Jost Chemical trains in areas such as foundational chemistry, process instrumentation, visual process mapping, and more.
